Rolling with The Roll Over Ice cream🍦
5.0

Ice cream rolls for the first time in Chennai..There's this 'warning' note put up everywhere in their menu and in the waffle cups they serve that reads 'Our Ice creams are addictive' and that's a serious point to be kept in mind <3 Treat for eyes (watching them roll is actually the best part) and taste buds..Great work Team Roll On :)

One of the best places to have Authentic Chettinad Food
5.0

🐓Kozhi Kari Mess🍳 There are few restaurants in Chennai that make you come back and @kozhi_kari_mess is one among them! Thamizh themed Restaurant with motivational quotes and leaders on the walls, Ilayaraja songs on Loop 🎶 What we had : 🐟 : Aila Porichadhu : This dish is something that any Sea Food Lover can't resist having! Beautiful before and After Fry 😋 🐟 : Rasapodi Meen Kuchi : Ahh, that Aroma of Rasapodi and My love for sea Food! 🤤 - This dish is a MUST TRY I say 💯 🍗 : Idicha Kozhi Perattal : The Spices and their in house made masala are truly top notch besides, the meat could have been a little tender! 🍗 : Aranmanai Kozhi Kozhambu : Well, I have reached a point where I maximum try to avoid Broiler Chickens! 🐓 So review based on only the Kozhambu! Kozhambu was curated by the Chef / Owner giving us Authentic Chettinad flavours! 🐐 : Pandiya Naatu Aatukari Chukka : The meat could have been a little tender, as we found it a bit chewy and ahh those masalas are truly to melt for🤤🤤 🍗 : Pichu pota Naatu Kozhi : Natukozhi kagave naan, Natukozhi sapdave naan 😝 So the meat could have been cooked a bit more, and also the quantity could have been more for the price!

Addicted to this place & Food
5.0

Located inside a charming Bunglow with ample amount of Seating at the heart of the city, Alwarpet, is definitely a gem of a place. Ambience : To Two words to describe the Ambience would be : Calm & Serene! Painted in beautiful pastel colours, every room uniquely decorated in its own way, a huge showcase that had lot of antique items that not only take you back to the 90’s but to the 80’s. The entire place gives a posh English café look that makes it perfect for any occasion/ any meal. Ice cream craving? They’ve got THE BEST Ice creams in the city! Just stopped by for a Hot Coffee, Oh yes Amelie’s got you! Dinner Date? PERFECT is the Word! Drinks : 🔸Green Apple Mint Margarita : Served in a Pretty Margarita Glass, loaded with frozen frosty green apple crushed ice and Mint was indeed refreshing! 🔸Shangri – La : All those Non Alchoholic Wine Lovers, this one is for you! Their In house made Red Wine blended with Apple, Cherry, Orange Pear with Thin Slices of apple float. 🔸Blue Breeze : Lemonade, also the menu mentions Blue Curacao but Lemonade is what I tasted. 🔸Shirley Temple : Yes, They call it Shirley Temple – Pomegranate Based Mocktail, but again, Lemonade is what I tasted apart from the pink colour 🔸Fun on the Beach : Well, doesn’t the name itself excite you? Look at the perfectly done layers! This is what I call PERFECTION! This Mocktail is definitely a Treat for the eyes! 🔸Basil Orange Mojito : Exactly how they have named it. Blend of Basil, Orange flavoured refreshing mojito! 🔸Belgian Hot Chocolate : I am one of those rare mutated gene hooman who does not actually like Belgian Chocolate, so this was too bitter for me but my friends loved it tho! 🔸Mississippi Mud Pie : Layers and Layers and Layers of Happiness. So the Layers had Cookie Crumbs, Whipped Cream, Dark Chocolate, Madagascar Vanilla and that’s enough to make me happy. Soups : 🔸Chicken Tortilla Soup : I’m a sucker for Good Soup and given an option I’d choose Soups over any other drink. So this Tomato Chicken soup served with tortillas chips is definitely the ONE to warm you on a cold weather. 🔸Wild Mushroom Cappuccino : This edible Fungi Soup, so rich and so creamy is a glam up to start your meal. Appetizers: 🔸Nachos : The usual Nachos is what I thought but the toppings made it a Top Notch – Jalapeno Cheese Sauce, Salsa, Sour Cream. Doesn’t it sound like a real Combo 🔸Corn & Cheddar Quesadilla : This humble quesadilla is a snack that will satisfy any hungry tummy. The combination of Cheddar cheese & corn inside the thin slice of Quesadilla was to perfection 🔸Mezze Platter : A platter for 238/- bucks that had Assorted Pita Bread, Falafel, Hummus served with 4 different dip. For the price & quantity, this dish is of great VFM 🔸Jalapeno & Cheddar Pops : Cheeeeeeeeesy Fried Pops served with Spicy Mayo Dip and Salad 🔸Amelie’s Fried Chicken : Having the name, ‘Amelie’s’ – my expectation was the appetizer to be a Signature dish but it matched to any friend chicken. Nicely Cooked Tender Meat with finger licking flavours 🔸Cornflakes Crusted Chicken Tenders : If you are reading this, every single detail of every dish so patiently, DO NOT miss to order Cornflakes Crusted Chicken Tenders. Scrumptiously Delicious is the Word. Priced at 178/- with great VFM & to leave you smacking your lip. 🔸Jerk Grilled Chicken : Dry Pieces of tender chicken with not too much of sauce, served with potato wedges and salad. Note that we had to order this once again. Need I say more? 🔸Chicken Bao : The Bao Bun could have been more light and spongy but the Chicken filling totally made up for it 🔸Chicken BBQ Flatbread : When in 0 mood to have Pizzas, Flatbread to the rescue. We spent almost ½ hour to click pictures (just food blogger things) so probably it made the Flatbread too chewy 🔸Paris Sandwich : Matching its unique name, the filling is also equally Exquisite. Minced Chicken with Apple, Cinnamon & Honey. A great combination but it was a little weird to my tongue. Main Course: 🔸Penne Arrabbiata : Surprising to see such Delectable dishes at reasonable price. So, Tomato Based Penne Pasta priced at 188/- with ample quantity could have been the best if the Tomato flavor was not overpowering. 🔸Spaghetti Bolognese : Bolognese Sauce – Initially gives you the tangy flavor but as it goes down your throat, the flavor of meat is just more than sauce. The dish on a whole felt tangy, salty, a mix of two extreme flavours overpowering each other. 🔸Rice & Thai Red Curry : If you had read my previous reviews / blog, I’m a sucker for anything coconut! A tinch of coconut is enough to get me satisfied with the meal. This coconut milk infused Thai Red Curry literally is Heavely. 🔸Chicken Parmgiana : Tomato Sauce Spaghetti served with Parmesan Cheese loaded Crumb Fried Chicken. The Crumb Fried Chicken got over in like seconds. Crispy, Tender and Flavourful 🔸Grilled Chicken Breast : Grilled Chicken Breast by itself or added on with Pasta or salad is satisfying. So our dish was accompanied with salad and mashed potatoes. The meat was Grilled to perfection topped with White Mushroom Sauce. Pastries: We all know Amelie’s for its Exquisite & Heavenly In house Made Ice creams & Pastries. Without a doubt, they have THE BEST Dessert section & vast varieties to choose from. 🔸Trio Pastry : Triple layered Pastry – Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate & Dark Chocolate layers on a thick cookie crumb base tops my Favorite list 🔸Belgian Dark Chocolate : Well, not a Dark Chocolate person at all. So if you also have one of those rare mutated gene who does’nt actually like Belgian Chocolate, you might find this a bit bitter. But my friendly literally licked the plate clean! 🔸Raspberry & Vanilla: Raspberry + Vanilla = Lip Smacking Good! Such a perfect light dessert – Creamy & Delicious! Ice creams: 🔸Mini Ice Cream Sticks : Strawberry, Lemon & Caramel : Look at the Picture! The “too pretty to eat” type of Ice cream! 🔸Lastly, “HURRICANE 8” – THE SHOW STOPPER! 8 scoops of bliss in a huge bowl topped with Whipped Cream, Chocolate Syrup, Caramel Syrup, Gems, Sugar Balls and all things Good!

Royal South Indian Dining
5.0

One definitely has to experience the food here to know how divine it was. Vegetarian food with a touch of Grandmothers love as the name says 'Paati Veedu' at its best. The service makes you want to visit this place again and again - so warm and courteous. The interiors are spacious beautifully done. They even have an outdoor seating space with thinnai, rocking chairs and a lot of 80's - 90's games like pallanguzhi, paramapadham, and lots more. With regard to the food, we opted the sit down buffet priced approx ₹950/- per head. We booked our table via Dine Out App during the GIRF so we saved almost 50% of the total bill. (Bill attached in the pictures) Our dining was more of a ‘little things that matter’ concept! From starters to dessert and beverages, every thing was served in tiny portions sure to make you feel full at the end of the meal. For the welcome drink, we had : Muskmelon, Beetroot & Ginger Lemon Juice! No preservatives, No sugar – Healthy eating feels! 😋 For the starters, Vazhaipoo Vadai, Sambar Vadai, Karamani Sunday – all tiny portions and also, did I mention it’s unlimited! Here comes the first main course – Masala Dosa, Lemon Sevai with 3 side dish – Sambar, Chutney, Boondi Raita – I had to ask for the Boondi Raita thrice 🤤 Second set of main course and I’m almost full. My plate looks like it’s just filled with happiness – Poori, Pongal, Vathakuzhambu sadham and 5 varities of side dish *loud burp* 😂 Being at such an authentic south Indian restaurant, how can we miss Thayir Sadham with Mor Molaga 🤤 here’s more reasons why I will visit this place again n again! 💕 Ahh! How long it’s been since I had authentic south indian dessert and snacks!Palkova – I had to refill it twice again, gulab jamun my love, wheat halwa just melted in my mouth and seedai! 😍 I’m more of a chai person than a coffee person. I’ve had coffee only handful of times in my entire life and after having this filter coffee, I think I might get addicted to caffeine! Vetrilai, Sunnambu and Paaku for the finishing touch! 👏 Overall, I personally had an amazing experience, more of a royal dining experience. The staffs treat you with utmost care and courtesy. We paid ₹990/- for two which is a killer deal. All thanks to the GIRF! Paati Veedu – A royal dining experience!

Cheesiest Restaurant in the City
5.0

My Love Affair with Cheese Fromage – Meaning Cheese in French, This restaurant holds its Continental Cuisine up high by Chef Kaushik (aka The Mad Chef) & his team. The restaurant is Located at the Ground Floor of Somerset Towers. As soon as you enter, you get the posh Europian Restaurant Feel. Walls painted in bright shades of Blue and Yellow (My personal Favourite Combination because MINIONNNNSS love forever :P) , Cool Photo Frames on the Walls and Welcoming Staffs. We’ve all heard about Cheese Burst Pizza, Feta Cheese, Cheddar and Mozarella Varieties! This place serves Varieties of Cheese which we’ve only heard or read about! 90% of their Menu is Cheese Blended and oh! the Parmesan Cheese Wheel Pasta Videos that has been on fire circulating over the Social Media and the 24 Layered Chocolate Cake Brag – Worth it! To start with, “Garlic Bread was complimentary and was served with 4 dips : 1. Spicy Mayo 2. Picante 3. Honey Mustard 4. Sour Cream “ Broccoli & Cheddar Soup : To those “not a beverage” person like me, Soups are our Best Friend, aren’t they? The Broccoli & Cheddar Soup was served in a bread bowl (similar to a Bunny Chow) and had the lengthiest cheese pull I’ve had until date! (Vlog Below) The flavours of Broccoli, Herbs & Cheese were off the scale. “Nachos Mexican : I’m someone who picks Popcorn over Nachos. But hands down to the Giant Mexican Nachos in the City. They make their own Nachos and serve it with veggies, sour cream and cheese sauce. “Phyllo Pastry Parcels : Crispy triangle shaped starters filled with Onion and Goat Cheese. Goat Cheese, unlike Cow Cheese has lesser lactose, lower sodium, and has easy to digest fats. You don’t have to worry about Calories 😛 “Beef Roulade : Beef Rolls Stuffed with Ricotta Cheese! Ricotta Cheese has got the highest amount of protein content! So the beef roll + ricotta cheese + spinach = Incredible! Pork Ribs : Slow Cooked, Honey Coated Pork Ribs with Herbs and Spices, served with Fromage Special Sauce! I felt the Meat was tough and hey, this was one of the very few dishes that dint have any sign of cheese! “Fromage Signature Dish : “The Parmesan Cheese Wheel” A 2 year old Parmigiano Reggiano wheel where buttered pasta is put into the wheel and a blow torch is used to melt the cheese. This is definitely a ‘one of a kind’ visual and dining experience. You might feel the flavour is very bland initially, but it is THE perfect traditional Italian Pasta I’ve ever had. (Add On options are also available but we chose it to be the traditional way, served with a slice of Garlic Bread) “Pizza Pot Pie : A very Interesting Main Course Baked in a pot! Available only in Veg, Chicken and Beef (I really like the way how they’ve limited their menu presenting us the best of each dish). We had Chicken and Broccoli – The presentation was watch worthy (Vlog Attached) Broccoli was bland and Overloaded with Veggies & Cheese. On the other hand, Chicken was on the Spicier Side. “Death By Chocolate : Doesn’t the picture itself make you drool? The 12 layer of Gooey Chocolate Sponge and 12 Layer of Chocolate Ganache Cream is so addictive that makes you want more and more and more, also it is slightly on the pricier side. “Cheesecake Flan : Silky smooth, Creamy, Buttery, Velvety, and what not? FROMAGE : A Gem of a place for all those Cheese Lovers!

Top Notch Food & Service

BROKEN BRIDGE CAFE Named After Namma Chennai’s Most Favourite Broken Beach Bridge, this Cafe has set New Landmark at the MRC Nagar! 🌇 I had a lovely time dining there for lunch few days before Christmas! The Christmassy Feels were on Point with Bling lights and beautifully Decorated Christmas Tree Welcoming us! 🎄 We had a perfect 3 course meal, starting with : Starter : Prawn Salt & Pepper with Red Pepper Chutney – A simple yet Impressive Crunchy Prawn Starter served with Cold Tomato Chutney. The Crust is very Crispy that you can actually hear the Crunching Sound in Every Bite and Nicely Cooked Soft Prawn Flesh Inside. Entrée : Salmon Spaghetti with Orange Butter Sauce – A dish out of the Menu & was suggested by Mr. Sunder – one of the staffs there. Have been seeing only Chicken Based Dishes on Instagram & Zomato so we wanted to try something Sea Food and chose Salmon Boii! Without a doubt, I knew this is all I wanted because Salmon and Pasta are a Dream Combination❣️ The Orange Butter Sauce surprisingly blended so well with the Spaghetti and this dish is not to be missed by Sea Food lovers! Slightly on the pricier side, Costed 1200/- + tax but the attentiveness and the Food certainly makes up for it. Dessert : Nutella Custard with Maltova Crumble The layers of Crunchy Maltova Crumble, Thick Nutella and Smooth Custard was a Top Notch!
