Wok Monk is an Asian cuisine place in Anna Nagar, which comprises of more than 25 pages of menu, the cuisines varying from Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Malaysian and so on.
ICED MILO to start up was repeated in our orders, one or two times the Milo ratio was perfect. CENDOL a coconut based drink with mung bean flour jelly had more coconut milk taste.
DUMPLINGS had a lot of varieties, from Chicken Siu Mai – a steamed dough stuffed with Chicken to Broccoli & Spinach to Chicken Dumpling, this was the best part of the meal already. STARTERS Chicken Satay with different variants was really flavorful. Lotus Stem was nice, crisp masala filled. AYAM 36 GORENG, a Chicken prepared with 36 ingredients was a good try.
MAIN COURSES the Asian specialists NASI GORENG – rice with egg, chicken & prawn crackers is a must order. PAD THAI noodles was good. RENDANG BEEF CURRY with rice & LOTUS STEM RICE was all worth for their quantity and quality. But PIZZA and MAGGI looked completely out of zone among all these.
Desserts were from different flavours like Lemon Grass, Kafir Lime, Green Tea ice cream, that’s indeed a welcoming try. Cost for two people at 1000 ₹ approx, WOK MONK is not the usual Chinese place since the dishes will initially taste little different and if we know the intentions behind the ideas, it would definitely be appreciated.
Situated above Shree Gupta bhavan, wok monk is best restaurant choice for Pan Asian cuisine. They have huge variety of menu and also by country wise say Bhutan, Indonesia etc. The taste of the dishes being served here are so unique and delicious. Having a seating capacity of 20 approx. and also they do provide liquor. The service is too good and it is straight away in my must visit list.
Wok monk…. sucha nice place to hangout specially for foodies…. wide spread pan Asian cuisine#mouth watering dishes #crazy fan for the crispy fried lotus stem. And the chili garlic sauce…
The restaurant is located on the third or fourth floor, so if you want to feel really hungry, try stairs. The staff are friendly and the ambience is pleasant with south east asian decor, the place is neat and tidy. The menu is extensive and segmented well. The food got served in relatively quick interval and was delicious. I would have personally preferred if they had more soup/appetiser options but nevertheless it is a good place if you are seeking asian food.
