From a 3-row queue standing in front of their hotel to a 3 tier restaurant, Ya Mohideen has come a long way to capitalize their name as one of the best biriyani’s in Chennai. Even though stand and eat was the only option, some afternoons won even have that space and people didn’t mind it, as the taste was consistently great. Biriyani was usually made in their living place and brought over to the hotel, so they didn’t have a proper Kitchen setup.
But now that a 3-floor building one for the takeaway crowd, middle for table seating without A/C and top most being with A/C and comfortable sofas, they have everything for a renowned restaurant in the Pallavaram – GST main road, except car parking. The quality of the basmati rice they use, add-ons like pepper, cinnamon among others though same as in many places, taste here has something specially different from others. Mutton Biriyani is their selling point comparatively and when had with Chicken 65, Egg plant gravy and raitha, one gets immersed in it completely. Another main factor of them standing tall is unlike a normal restaurant’s menu, here it is Biriyani and Biriyani only and that’s the reason they still manage the old outlet as same as before.
